Carlos joined USGI Medical as President and CEO in 2017. A world-class commercialization expert, Carlos brings more than 25 years of successful leadership experience to USGI, with distinguished performance in both public and private sectors of medical device companies. Previously he served as Vice President of AirSeal® System Commercialization for Conmed Corporation, and Chief Commercialization Officer at SurgiQuest, Inc., a medical company offering surgical devices and equipment for laparoscopic and robotic surgical procedures, prior to being acquired by Conmed. Carlos also served as President, International for Curon, Inc. and Chief Sales and Marketing Officer of the medical segment of Vision Sciences Inc., and held various senior management positions at United States Surgical Corporation prior to its acquisition by Tyco, and subsequently by Medtronic.
Chief Operating Officer
Tracy has over 25 years of experience in Engineering and Operations management. Prior to joining USGI Medical, Tracy served as Director of Product Development at Volcano Therapeutics, as Senior Product Development Engineer and Director of Research and Development at EMBOL-X and as Product Development Engineer at ArthroCare. Earlier in his career, Tracy also served in professional and management roles at Guidant. Tracy holds a BSME from GMI Engineering and Management Institute, and is named as sole or co-inventor on over 68 patents in the medical device field.
Vice President, Global Sales & Business Development
Chris is an accomplished sales and marketing executive with more than 25 years of sales and marketing experience in both large cap companies as well as venture-backed start-up organizations. Throughout his career, Mr. Klecher has held executive level sales and marketing positions within U.S. Surgical (acquired by Covidien/Medtronic) as well as serving as a key member of seven medical device start-up companies: Microsurge (acquired by Richard Allan), Endonetics (acquired by Medtronic), Vascular Control Systems (acquired by J&J), Torax Medical (acquired by J&J), Solace Therapeutics, Venetec International (acquired by C.R. Bard) and SurgiQuest (acquired by ConMed). Over the course of his career, he has led hundreds of sales and marketing professionals and launched more than 75 products. Mr. Klecher received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Bucknell University.
Vice President, Global Marketing
Kevin brings to USGI Medical over 20 years of global experience in bariatric, endolumenal and laparoscopic procedures. Prior to joining, Kevin led the development of numerous novel technologies and procedures in the endolumenal bariatric, natural orifices, and advanced visualization space while at Medtronic. In addition to his many years as a marketing leader, he has held senior positions with increasing responsibilities in sales, business development, and professional education while at Covidien, Karl Storz, and Circon ACMI (now Olympus).
Vice President, Engineering & Clinical Projects
Chris has over 15 years of broad experience in all areas of medical device product development including R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and Regulatory. At USGI Medical, Chris has been a key leader in developing new products for commercialization and scaling up manufacturing. Prior to joining USGI Medical, Chris led the development of endoscopic cameras, electrosurgical devices, and laparoscopic instruments at Stryker Endoscopy. Chris holds a BSME from California State University, Long Beach and an MBA from Santa Clara University.
Scott is experienced in all aspects of life sciences with a truly broad experience spanning academic research, consulting, investment banking, Venture Capital and start-up management. Scott is a former investment banker at Merrill Lynch where he was an analyst on the largest Biotech Merger at that time – Amgen’s purchase of Immunex. Additionally, he completed a follow on offering for biotech, and analyzed multiple M&A deals in the medical technology space. Scott holds a Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering from University of California (San Diego, 1993-1998) and a PhD in Bioengineering from University of California, Berkeley/ University of California, San Francisco (1998-2003).
Guy is co-founder of Alta Partners, a leading Venture Capital firm in life sciences, funding over 150 companies in the healthcare/life sciences sector since 1996 through eight Venture Capital funds. Guy is a Life Sciences investment veteran with more than 30 years of experience. Among Silicon Valley’s most successful venture capitalists in Biotech, Guy was named to Forbes’ Midas List in 2007. Mr. Nohra holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Stanford University (Palo Alto, California, 1978-1982) and completed a MBA from University of Chicago (Chicago, 1987-1989).
